Message recap: This Sunday was the first Sunday of Lent. Lent traditionally lasts forty days and is modeled after Christ’s forty day fast in the desert. Lent ends this year on Good Friday, April 19, 2019. Lents is the period before Easter when we focus on Christ and prepare for His sacrifice on the cross. This is a time when we contemplate what God did for us and we grow closer to God. God created you for a specific purpose and He called you to something uniquely yours. Jesus sees in you what others may not. Remember your calling, remember who sent you and worship the One who enables you to accomplish His will for your life.

Challenge for the week: Commit to adding something or subtracting something from your life for the next forty days that will help you grow closer to God.
